Here We Find Quicksand! And the Conversation You Wouldn't Hear... By, Bob Parks

"Hi Bob."

"Hi Jim."

"You'll never believe this, Bob, but I think I'm going to die - this quicksand is just dragging me down."

"Don't be an idiot, Jim - it's all in your mind. You've just stepped in a swamp. Ignore the tiger... and cobra that surround you. You have a guardian angel who's with you every second, who will embrace your difficulty. So just trust in the power of the unknown, and you will come up trumps."

"Okay, Bob, I'll do that - you know what? The ground is already feeling firmer and I feel safe again."

Now for something you might hear:

"Help, Bob! - Get me out of this quicksand. I've onlya few seconds left before my head submerges."

"Fucking hell, Jim. I don't know what to do to help. Stay with me. Can you do something to slow down the sinking? Try bringing your knees up. Sorry I just don't know. How long have I got to look for a fallen branch? Scream if you need to - this is your life. Roar like a lion, screech like a monkey. Maybe what we're scared of can help us."

"Just do something, and quick, or I'm dead! I've nothing to lose, except for my life. By going to the wild side of life, I'm going to trust in Nature—here goes. Aaaaaaaaagh. At least if I die in a lion's jaw, there's still hope I might survive the experience."
